What We Do
The United for Community Development (UCD) is dedicated to dismantling the systemic exploitation of vulnerable families in Pakistan's brick kilns. We actively intervene to break the cycle of bonded labor through direct debt liquidation, relentless legal advocacy, and the provision of essential health and educational services.
We believe that freedom is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. By providing safe learning environments for kiln children, facilitating rehabilitation and skill training for adults, and operating medical camps in isolated areas, our mission is to transform immediate rescue into long-term, sustainable independence for marginalized communities in Punjab.
Where We Are Going
We envision a future where every individual in Pakistan is free from the chains of bonded labor and modern-day slavery. A society where poverty does not equate to a loss of basic human rights, and where vulnerable families are no longer preyed upon through the manipulative "Peshgi" debt system.
Our ultimate vision is to see the children of brick kiln workers holding pens instead of molding clay, graduating from our Kiln Schools to become empowered leaders of their communities. We strive for a Punjab where comprehensive legal frameworks protect the working class, allowing them to build self-sustaining, dignified lives.
